Since LoanMetra is a loan calculator, most of what arrives concerns seeing how much an extra payment saves — and the occasional result that seems off. Either is welcome here.

What to tell us

- Your inputs, which for this tool means the loan amount, rate, term and repayments; exactness is not needed.
- What you expected to see, and what you actually saw.
- Your browser and device, if the problem was visual.
Messages about finding the payoff date at the current payment are common here, and a short description of your case is usually enough for a useful reply.
Telling us about an incorrect answer
Because the method is written down rather than hidden, an error report is easy to act on. LoanMetra works on the principle that it amortises the balance month by month, charging interest at the annual rate divided by twelve and applying your payment, then repeats the run with any extra repayment so the interest and time the overpayment removes are shown directly, so when a figure disagrees with your own working, one of the two has slipped. Send both and we will find out which.
